Verdict

Stellar Express was just beaten on her reappearance at Pontefract but made no mistake here last time, beating today's rivals Pilgrims Rest by three lengths. She likes to lead, however, and will have to break smartly to get to the front from stall 11. Marcret found 7f too sharp when third here last month and will be much happier over this trip. Both previous wins in the UK have come on the Roodeye and he'll be a danger to all but it's difficult to desert LLANARMON LAD after a cracking run at Epsom. His late charge just failed to overhaul the useful Abseil but he's at the top of his game at present and can defy a 3lb higher mark. Modernism is also in good nick but all but bar one of his victories have come on the all-weather. Recent course and distance winner Las Verglas Star may be best of the rest.
