In depth

Verdict

Brisk Breeze looks head and shoulders above his rivals here having found just one too good in the Oaks trial at Lingfield last time and Henry Cecil's filly is impossible to oppose dropped back into maiden company today getting the vote to gain a well deserved first success ahead of Best of Gold and Martinet. The last mentioned showed only a modicum of ability on his debut at Chester but still has more solid place claims than Whodunit, who was well held in a handicap off a mark of 63 last time. Acosta has given little sign of encouragement in four starts so far, while Apache Chant has been beaten a total of 78 lengths in his two starts so far. Best of Gold showed promise on his debut but failed to build on that last time and Brian Meehan's colt looks the best bet for the forecast but for the winner it is hard to oppose Brisk Breeze.
