In depth

Verdict

A wide open contest here and many can be given a chance on their best form but the main protagonists look to be Colophony, Shaamit The Vaamit and Lady Maranzi and the tentative vote is given to Colophony. The selection won with plenty in hand last time out when beating Bucks and although he has a penalty for that win he still looks ahead of the handicapper and under conditions that suit he is taken to win again. Shaamit The Vaamit rates the main danger on his best form but he was slightly disappointing last time out. However he could improve for the step up in trip. Lady Maranzi is another that could go well as she has won he last two races in good style. However she is rising in the weights and this looks her most competitive assignment to date and as she has yet to prove she stays this trip she looks worth taking on. Brendar was a fair fourth behind Here We Go last time and is another with place claims but he looks weighted up to his best. Of the remainder Prestbury Knight is from a yard in form and could go well at a price but in a race that throws up more questions than answers for the winner we return to Colophony.
