In depth

Verdict

It's great to see traditional summer going at Chepstow and though his last two victories have been obtained with soft in the description, a faster surface should not inconvenience CHOSEN CHARACTER. Tom Dascombe's four-year-old has tended to do his winning in quick succession so connections predictably attempt to strike again while the iron is hot. My Boy Ginger is unpenalised for his victory in an apprentices race at Ffos Las so he must be respected as a consequence. Croeso Mawr has been lightly raced this season though John Spearing's mare enters the reckoning having scored previously at Yarmouth on a similar surface. One Way Or Another has been regularly plying his trade in plating company but he does appear attractively handicapped at present. Derfenna Art and Mr Udagawa are previous winners over C&D so any market confidence should be noted.
