In depth

Verdict

Not a strong maiden and it could pay to keep faith with Pastoral Pursuits, with Scholarship and Handsome Cross appealing as the main dangers. The Hughie Morrison team have a good strike-rate with their juvenilles this terms and plenty of them look set for a bright future. Pastoral Pursuits added his name to the list when chasing home the useful Privy Seal at Windsor on his debut. Form lines through that rival make it a close call between Morrison's charge and Scholarship this evening but the latter has failed to live up to his early sparkle and looks vulnerable here; despite the booking of Darryll Holland. Handsome Cross is one to watch out for in the betting, while Smoothly Does It looks to be one to avoid for now.
