In depth

Verdict

A poor start to the card but one that can go to RILEYEV. Venetia Williams' horse hasn't won since joining the yard but has shown signs that he's capable, including when shaping well on his return from a summer holiday. He should've derived plenty from that run, as runners from the yard tend to, and has been found a weak race. Flying Squad would appear to be the biggest threat on the back of a decent second at Towcester. He had to be rousted along from an early stage that day and may therefore improve for the extra distance, although his profile is hardly one of consistency. Evan Williams saddled a double on Monday so Lukie Victor must be considered despite being winless since arriving from Ireland, while Manmoon should improve for the reapplication of a tongue-tie and is a threat on the pick of his form.
