Verdict

It's interesting that Denis O'Regan prefers the lightly-raced Philadelphus to stablemate Henry Hook but this looks a competitive affair in which several have stronger claims. Sentimentaljourney was backed into favouritism in a first-time visor when fourth at Sandown and the blinkers are tried here. He shouldn't be far away while Mauricetheathlete had Gilwen Glory behind when successful over C&D in December and is starting to slip down the weights again. Danderry should strip fitter for his comeback run at Bangor and Kathleens Pride ran well for a long way over C&D on his return, though this looks a better race. There should be a strong gallop and that will suit THE RED LAIRD, who had Azulada Bay behind when just touched off at Catterick last month. He's preferred to Simply Ben, Jomade and Plumpton winner Hazy Bay.
