In depth

Verdict

WAR SOUND refused to settle in a Listed race at Exeter last month but had looked a nice prospect when beating the odds-on Southfield Royale on his debut at the west country track. If Ciaran Gethings can find some cover here, he should take all the beating. Floresco, a winner on the Flat in Germany, is getting closer to a first victory over hurdles and shouldn't be far away again while Template wasn't far behind the useful Kingfisher Creek on his debut at Taunton and can only improve. Rye House is rated 98 on the Flat last year and will win races over hurdles if he can translate his best form, though he might just need this.
