In depth

Verdict

PADDY'S TERN looks good enough to defy a seven pound penalty, while both Western Whisky and Newbay Bob are worthy of mention. The selection took advantage of a lenient chase mark when scoring at Towcester last week and connections are keen to take a chance with a penalty before the handicapper has a chance to reassess his rating. If he can reproduce his recent form he is sure to give his supporters another good run for their money. Western Whisky is tough and consistent but will find life tough with top weight to carry. Newbay Bob made all to win at Exeter in February but has since been a little disappointing and the handicapper may have him where he wants him for the time being. Paddy's Tern still looks potentially well treated and is worth staying on the right side of.
