Verdict

Jamie Moore was able to slow NAJCA DE THAIX to a walk after the last on similar ground at Leicester 10 days ago but the 10-year-old still beat Wood Yer by 17 lengths. On that evidence, a 7lb penalty won't be enough to stop him here though his odds may reflect that fact. Nigel Twiston-Davies was responsible for the runner-up that day and now saddles Sherwani Wolf, who is making his handicap debut having shown promise in decent novice company. The Boss was well backed over fences at Newbury last month and was noted staying on well in the closing stages. He could figure off the same mark back over hurdles, but Oscar Close needs to improve on a modest return to action at Exeter in November.
