Verdict

This is usually won by a runner from one of the more powerful yards, though the form hasn't really worked out in recent years. Previous winners Creepy, Jazz Man and Monkey Kingdom could all struggle under a penalty but Southfield Theatre shaped well in a couple of starts last season and is now with Paul Nicholls. Minella For Party changed hands for £75,000 after winning a point-to-point and must be better than he showed when a hot favourite for a Ffos Las bumper a year ago while Key To The West was second at Warwick on his debut in January, though has changed stables since. The Irish have taken this prize home in two of the last three years and SIZING JO'BURG looks a likely sort this time. Related to several useful winners, though still very green he stepped up on his debut when third at Killarney in July and further improvement is almost guaranteed. Separate Shadows should also be winning soon.
