In depth

Verdict

ITALIAN MASTER could only muster the one pace when favourite at Newbury last month but that race has worked out really well and, with Ruby Walsh keeping the partnership intact, Paul Nicholls' seven-year-old can open his account here. He's much preferred to stablemate Toby Lerone while the handicapper appears to have the measure of Qalinas. Count Guido Deiro and Moorlands Mist are closely matched on a line through Master Todd but the former was easily beaten by Sergeant Dick at Southwell last month. Sean Curran trains the latter and also has Fakenham scorer Chargen in the line-up but Faultless Feelings needs to bounce back from a poor run at Market Rasen. Virginia Ash was out of his depth here last time but should do better back in the right grade and Regal Presence is actually racing off a pound lower mark than when causing a shock at Ascot, though that may have been a bit of a fluke judged on earlier form. Willow's Saviour should be winning soon but will find easier opportunities when the ground dries out.
