In depth

Verdict

Rebel Du Maquis was in the process of running a big race in the Aintree Fox Hunters' until falling but is in danger of becoming disappointing. Soulard and Taranis have a touch of class while Palypso De Creek has been in cracking form between the flags and was impressive in winning a Wetherby hunter chase in February. BENEDICTUS was pulled up in the Foxhunters' here at The Festival but has otherwise been impressive under Rules this winter, winning twice at Taunton and once at Kempton. If Leanda Tickle can get him into a rhythm, the eight-year-old may be good enough in this. Allerford Jack, Presentandcorrect and Cool Friend also warrant a second look in a tight finale.
