In depth

Verdict

A extremely tight little handicap. Dolphin Village will has disappointed since his impressive success at Haydock but George Chaloner's claim will be a help. Sunblazer was well beaten at Ffos Las two weeks ago, the first time he came up against soft ground, so he wouldn't want any more rain. After three victories at Bath, Portrait couldn't handle 1m6f at Sandown and this is her trip though she's 11lb higher than her latest success. AMBLESIDE won a couple of minor handicaps before stepping up massively in grade at York last week where he finished last in the Melrose Handicap over 1m6f. This is more his level and he can bounce back, though he's a hard ride and Corton Lad showed battling qualities at Hamilton - with just a 4lb rise to contend with, the latter has to be a threat.
