Aussie Blue was a consistent sort for Richard Whitaker in modest handicaps and the eight-year-old almost produced a 33/1 shock for his new trainer Charlie Pogson in a recent contest at Nottingham. Keys Of Cyprus has won previously at this stage of the season, and he shouldn't be discounted off a rating of 57 but we will stick with THRUST CONTROL. The five-year-old was rated 84 when obliging in a claimer at the track a couple of seasons ago and, while that figure flattered him, he wasn't too far away off today's mark at Newcastle. North Central has his first run for Keith Dalgleish having previously campaigned under the tutelage of Jim Goldie. The five-year-old has only won one race from 35 starts though it was obtained at this course over a shorter trip. Ursus won a handicap off a 6lb lower mark at Newcastle in August and Chris Wilson's veteran has been placed on his last two visits to Catterick.
