Verdict

Aliante has looked very moderate and failed to sparkle in soft ground at Doncaster last time after a better effort on firm going at Salisbury. ROC DE PRINCE cost 30,000gns as a yearling and 130,000 euros as a two-year-old but didn't make his debut until last month when runner-up to the long odds-on Biographer. The remainder were well beaten and Richard Fahey's charge looks one to follow. Another eye-catcher, also at Doncaster, was The Baronet, who made a very promising first appearance there last week behind Moodhill. He's by Sir Percy out of a 1m6f winner so the 7f would have been much too short and, by the way he stayed on at the finish, he will be well suited by this trip. Albillanbaz didn't enjoy the clearest of runs on his debut at Redcar and looks best of the remainder.
