In depth

Verdict

Pennyrock ran better in a similar contest over course and distance last month and warrants respect but John Quinn's colt is becoming expensive to follow so he may be best watched in a race where the vote goes to Medici Pearl, who is preferred to Leprechaun's Gold. The last mentioned has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated in three starts on the all-weather but Mark Johnston's gelding may do better now encountering turf for the first time. Prince Noel looks little better than moderate, while Suspender makes only limited appeal on pedigree ahead of his debut. The vote in a weak looking contest goes to Tim Easterby's Medici Pearl, who ran a promising race on his debut at Southwell when staying on well at the end of six furlongs and he should appreciate the extra furlong today.
