Verdict

Salerosa gets the vote to land the finale on her handicap debut. A mark of 59 probably reflects what Ann Duffield's filly achieved in maidens however, she was far from disgraced in two of those. Her proximity to a number of rivals in those contests puts her in with a chance her of making a winning handicap debut while the draw gives Royston Ffrench plenty of options. Orpen Fire is obvious shortlist material. Her mark has been re-assessed with her doing nothing as such, her Warwick conqueror ran well off a mark of 73 subsequently. A mark of 70 gives her a big chance on that evidence. Flying Valentino is an exposed mare given her age but a mark of 62 leaves her in with a squeak. She has shown she performs around this course which can be all important given its undulations. She travelled very well at Hamilton over 6 furlongs before failing to muster up a turn-of-foot in the later stages. She probably found the ground on the quick side last time out and the easier under-foot conditions will suit. Montiboli was a well-beaten second at Southwell last time and looks plenty high enough in the weights. Kyllis is weighted to turn around the form with Montiboli after their clash over course and distance in April. Mugeba is each way material but faces a big task to turn around Warwick form with Orpen Fire while Medici Pearl is off a 6lb lower mark than her last victory. Salerosa is nominated to make a winning handicap debut in a competitive finale.
