Verdict

In a very competitive sprint handicap, decent claims can be given to Loughlorien, The Old Soldier and General Smith, but we just side with Rum Destiny. Loughlorien has been slightly disappointing of late but has course and distance form to his name. Kevin Ryan's gelding has the plum draw in stall one and looks on a fair mark, so he has to be respected. The Old Soldier showed promise on his seasonal bow in claiming grade here. Expected to improve for that effort, Paul Hanagan is a positive jockey booking and he looks well drawn in stall six. Mystical Charm disappointed at this trip recently and would prefer further, while General Smith and Guns Blazing are in decent form but both have it all to do from poor high draws. So we'll side with Rum Destiny, a course and distance winner who would have finished a lot closer last time out here behind Salviati with a clear run. John Wainwright's four-year-old looks well drawn in stall five and will not mind the drying ground.
