In depth

Verdict

Some real characters are assembled here and the market will be a good guide towards which horses have been showing a little sparkle at home. However, Shaffishayes is capable of figuring strongly in a race of this nature and he is taken to edge his trainer on her way towards her goal before retirement. Ball Games, MillKom Elegance and Lady Stratergem will not make it easy for Mary Reveley's inmate though, and this could go right down to the wire. That said Shaffishayes is a good battler at his own level and, as the most experienced horse in the race, he can teach his younger rivals a thing or two if it boils down to a scrap for the line. Ball Games has put in a couple of good efforts of late and is fancied as the main danger to the rest should Shaffishayes suffer any mishaps on the way round.
