In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap gets proceedings underway and there is very little between many of the leading lights, but the principals look to be Mad Professor, Annibale Caro and Peak Seasons, and the narrow vote is given to Mad Professor. The selection was a fair fourth behind Oiel'd'Estruval last time out. That form looks solid and off the same mark here he looks the one to be on. Annibale Caro was a fair sort on the flat but did not progress as expected over hurdles last season. However as a consequence he remains on a fair mark and with his yard liking a tilt at the ring he should be watched in the market. Peak Seasons ran as if returning to form when third behind Edas last time out. He again has conditions to suit and is another with definite place claims. King's Jester hails from a shrewd Irish yard and was third behind Palais Tiff last time out. He enters handicaps off a handy mark but his overall profile leaves him with a little to find. Of the remainder, Will The Till hails from a yard in form but looks weighted up to his best and for the winner we return to Mad Professor to small stakes.
