Verdict

Apolskapart went well on his first start for Michael Smith when third in a Market Rasen handicap and is respected whilst Definite Maybe jumped and travelled impressively when third at Uttoxeter in the style of a horse open to notable improvement. He was half a length behind the reopposing Dr Dalwhinny on that occasion but it would not surprise if placings were reversed here. The latter obviously remains of interest and it was tempting to row in with Definite Maybe but the choice is SMART RULER to post a success for the local Moffatt yard. He's been going well in handicap company and looks sure to give a solid account reverting to maiden ranks. Macarthur still has abilty but is a light of former days when landing the 2008 Hardwicke Stakes for Ballydoyle.
