In depth

Verdict

Rowdy Rocher is of considerable interest on this first run back since November 2011 and the market will almost certainly indicate stable confidence after such an absence on this novice chase debut. A winner of an Irish point-to-point, he should certainly be kept on the right side whatever his fate here. UPSILON BLEU and Yurok have both taken to fences well and finished second and third here last time. The forecast ground is much better this time around and there's an extra half-mile to travel, but Pauline Robson's charge is taken to confirm the form and post a first chase success since moving to his new yard from France. Nodform Richard reverts to novice company after competing in open handicaps the last twice, including a hard-fought Catterick success. He stays much further than today's trip and whilst not ruled out, may find this a little sharp on the better ground. The McCain yard is also not firing on all normal cylinders at present.
