Verdict

Mark Johnston has his horses in good form and Tartan Gigha sets a high standard; newcomer Kama Night and the reappearing Beauchamp Wizard appear to be the dangers. Already rated 80, Tartan Gigha comes here on the back of a good second behind Art Currency at Beverley. The first two were nine lengths clear of the third and this Green Desert colt should take this. Connections have done well to get a horse rated as low as 15 in the form of Frill A Minute, whilst Senora Lenorah and Ronnies Girl are just making up numbers. Gerard Butler took a division of this race in 2007 and has claims with Beauchamp Wizard; he will be handicapped after this run but did show ability last year. Kiss Me Hardy and Kama Night look the most interesting of the newcomers, with the latter related to several winners but this son of Night Shift is already gelded for his racecourse debut. Tartan Gigha sets the standard and should have no trouble in collecting.
