Verdict

A very mixed bag and preference is for Mandalay King ahead of Irving Place and Paddyjack. A winner of two of his last three starts, the selection is fancied to defy a 6lb rise in the weights today. He won on an uphill finish last time at Hamilton and he looks to be a progressive and well-related son of King's Best. Mujahope needs to bounce back from a couple of poor starts but he may have had legitimate excuses; his record is unspectacular but it's hard to rule anything out in this grade. Legendary Guest is consistent, and along with Paddy Jack needs consideration, however Bishopbriggs could be a bigger danger. He needs watching in the betting from a shrewd yard and he possesses ability. Irving Place is nicely handicapped, however he was well-backed last time and may have missed a golden opportunity there. An open contest, but Mandalay King can reign supreme.
