Verdict

This ancient contest always generates a strong betting market and any significant moves should be monitored closely. Four-year-olds have a good recent record and several from that age group have leading claims. Andrew Balding has sent Restaurateur up from Kingsclere but Ingleby Angel looks high enough in the weights now and Springheel Jake is upped in class after winning a claimer here and a Hamilton handicap, though is in cracking form. TWENTY ONE CHOICE's winning run came to an end in a competitive Ascot handicap last month but he was only beaten a length-and-a-half and there may still be more in the locker. He gets a tentative nod from an inside draw but Pacific Heights is respected having finally opened his account over course and distance last month. Top weight Silvery Moon, Al Muheer and Best Trip could be the pick of the more experienced handicappers taking their chance.
