In depth

Verdict

Tenor Nivernais won a Haydock handicap with his head in his chest and was taking on much better class in the race won by Celestial Halo at Newbury subsequently. Grafite looked impressive at Lingfield last month and made a mistake at a crucial point on his next start at Chepstow. The handicapper has raised Quinte Du Chatelet a massive 11lb for his all-the-way victory at Hereford, the same amount as Knockando was put up after he scored at Ayr last month. That didn't bother the latter as he went to Wetherby and gained another comfortable victory and even a further 12lb hike shouldn't be enough to prevent another big run. Aneyeforaneye hasn't run for a long time and may find the ground too testing so this can go to DUSKY BOB, whose close second to Grand Vision at Huntingdon was well and truly boosted by the winner's success at Haydock on Saturday. Gleann Na Ndochais is an improving stayer at the right end of the weights who can go well in a very open contest.
