Verdict

Osgood was all out to win at Newmarket last time and is 4lb higher today. Botham is only a couple of pound higher than when scoring at Hamilton last year and may figure back on soft ground for the first time since while Call Of Duty is not out of this off his current mark. However, another chance goes to THACKERAY, who ran no sort of race on firm going at Haydock last time but had beaten Hayek by two lengths in soft ground at the same track before that. He can pick-up the winning thread under today's more suitable conditions.
