In depth

Verdict

A real headscratcher where staying is at a premium so Recent Edition is selected with Ta Ta For Now and Shrove Tuesday appear the dangers. Recent Edition put up a resolute gallop in gluepot conditions to beat Matmata De Tendron over course-and-distance. The eight-year-old made most on that occasion and having won over 3m6f in the past - there is no doubting his stamina. Ta Ta For Now invariably places at big prices and it looks interesting that Sue Bradburne has elected to pick Adam O'Keefe to take the mount. The gelding does not do things particularly quickly and can plug on for pressure. Shrove Tuesday represents a shrewd yard. There are few chances for her to run in her native Ireland so she is sure to give a good account of herself here. Of the remainder, Behavingbadly is in off a decent mark but looks to have lost his way completely this term. Red Alert Man is completely exposed but backers have the knowledge that he does put up his better efforts under today's conditions. Best China could be interesting if there is any market support , while Me Tows, a maiden after 25 starts, is a rare runner at the track for Tommy Carberry. A tough race in which Recent Edition is recommended as the selection.
