In depth

Verdict

Jorobaden showed tremendous promise on his debut and can go one better here today, Mazzareme and Crathorne look to be the main dangers. Heather Dalton's five-year-old had a top rating of 90 in the flat and contested some decent events. His first hurdles run came at Taunton where he finished a close second to Daryal. There should be plenty more to come and he looks the one to beat. Crathorne hasn't been beaten far in hurdle events at Catterick and Kelso. This is of a similar class and he should be in the frame again. Mazzareme carries a winners penalty after taking a small race at Ayr in December and may struggle against some less exposed types. Howard Johnson runs three here and with Graham Lee aboard Treybor this looks the best of the trio and should be noted for any market moves. so not the strongest of novice hurdles and Jorobaden should be up to collecting first prize.
