In depth

Verdict

Sergeant Pink,a real money-spinner for Dianne Sayer in handicap chases this season, has also shown ability on the level, notably when second to Goodlukin Lucy over 1m5f at Musselburgh in May. Well respected off 9-5, he looks the danger to topweighted COME HERE YEW under the talented Kirsty Milczarek. An excellent third to subsequent Ascot Stakes winner, Well Sharp, over 2m at York in May clearly represents the best form on offer and recent efforts have been perfectly respectable in the context of this contest. Ministerofinterior has the assistance of the excellent Cathy Gannon but has shown little since a period of high progression in the spring of 2012 and therefore Bandanaman and Bygones For Coins are suggested as likelier shortlist material.
