Verdict

Tanforan has run creditably in his last three starts and should again be thereabouts but he may have to settle for minor honours once more and preference is for The Salwick Flyer, who gets the vote with Charlie Allnut rated the pick of the remainder. The selection showed improved form when chasing home Grand Opera at Carlisle last time and, off the same mark today, Linda Perratt's gelding is taken to go one better. Dendor was good value for his win at Ayr last time but David Barker's gelding faces no easy task having been raised 7lbs for that success, while Vesuvio has every chance on recent form but would probably want the rain to arrive. Kirkby's Treasure has given little sign of encouragement of late and just one win from 29 starts for Tenancy tells its own story. Charlie Allnut is less exposed than his rivals after just four starts and could easily improve past his rivals but, in a moderate contest, it is The Salwick Flyer that gets the vote.
