Verdict

David Nicholls sent George Benjamin back into a maiden to open his account at Catterick last month and he has claims in this claimer today but is likely to find at least one too good again and a better bet looks to be THRUST CONTROL, who gets the vote ahead of Miami Gator. The John Weymes-trained gelding has been running consistently well in recent starts in sellers and claimers and he should be thereabouts once more but looks booked for a place at best again. Deferto Delphi faces no easy task on his debut and of more interest may be Kate Walton's Jupiter Fidius, who has struggled in recent outings in handicaps but appreciated the drop to this grade when successful at Catterick last time and he has to be respected. Alan Berry's Lord's Seat is capable but inconsistent and a safer option looks to be Brian Ellison's Thrust Control, who looks to be a shade high in the weights following his win at Ayr in June but he has an obvious chance dropped into a claimer today.
