In depth

Verdict

Gambling Spirit should be spot on following two recent outings and she is chosen to beat Ten Cents and Shamrock Bay. Henry Candy is once again having a pretty poor time of it but the few horses he has run have gone well. Gambling Spirit improved for her seasonal debut to finish a close up third behind Port 'n Starboard at Kempton. She stayed on well in that ten furlong event and so this extra distance should prove ideal. Ten Cents looks the obvious danger, she has put in two solid efforts at Lingfield recently and looks on a fair mark on her return to turf. Shamrock Bay displayed improved form last time when a finishing third behind Oldenway at Catterick and as that was her first run for some time she should improve. All in all another tricky contest, but Gambling Spirit just edges the decision.
