Verdict

SUNRISE LYRIC is a consistent type and (on these terms) can get the better of Sermons Mount and Nadinska. Another to bear in mind is Northern Genes, who has shown signs of ability but has struggled to make an impact over a mile - today's drop in trip may initiate some improvement, though. Not many of the others have created the impression they are about to bring the house down, so a cautions stance is advisable if the market produces any surprise contenders. Nadinska is a candidate to set a decent tempo and can make this a good test. She has lacked resolution in the past but, as this is a weak race; it would be dangerous to underestimate the threat she poses. Sermons Mount has already had more chances than most and has been expensive to follow. Each-way punters would argue that 10 placed efforts from 22 previous starts has been the way to go with this consistent (on face value) gelding. However, his willingness throw in the towel is off-putting and he makes limited appeal for a win only punt. Therefore, is can pay to take a chance on everything falling into place for Sunrise Lyric, who is virtually sure to get the strong pace she needs. The Paul Cole-trained filly became unbalanced on the turn at Beverley last time out, so had a legitimate excuse for her on that occasion. However, this isn't a much sterner test and, assuming Tadgh O'Shea can keep her out of trouble there is no reason why she cannot deliver in this company.
