An inherently low grade but competitive handicap so ANNES ROCKET rates as only a marginal preference to Recalcitrant and Golden Prospect. The selection has proved disappointing of late, but it could be that a return to Brighton, where he won in May, can work the oracle. Having gone well for an apprentice rider in the past, the booking of 5lb claimer, Gabriel Hannon catches the eye. Recalcitrant needs little introduction to aficionados of Brighton Racecourse. The gelding has been tried at trips up to a mile and a half this term but he is more than capable of showing pace over a mile and the booking of Jamie Spencer is interesting. Golden Prospect is a workmanlike individual. He landed some nice bets when obliging in a handicap at the course in June and is only 2lb higher today. Astroangel was second again at the course in July and the maiden seems fated to find another too good. Course and distance winner Landucci is one to note in the market whilst Lancaster Lad may not have the greatest of profiles but his yard are in fair nick at the present and if the runners stay high, as they have done in recent meetings at the track, he is in position to prosper. Royal Crest could be given a boost by Bermondsey Girl earlier in the card but Annes Rocket is our recommendation to limited stakes.
