BERMONDSEY GIRL can account for Ivory Lace and Goodbye Cash. Chris Wall's horses seem to have finally come into form and the daughter of Bertolini made her first foray into handicaps a winning one at Lingfield. Granted, she was hard ridden to hold on but she'll have learnt plenty for that experience and the handicapper has not had much opportunity to stack on the extra weight. Ivory Lace is an admirable mare and has given connections plenty of fun over the years. She is no stranger to this track but it is now getting on for two years since she last saw the winners' enclosure and the handicapper has been notably slow to let her back down the weights. Goodbye Cash brings recent course form to the table, taking a dire seller in decent style last month. The handicapper now has her in off 55 and though this represents an effective 8lb hike for that success, it is worth noting that she was being tried in marks in the mid 80s a few seasons ago. Lady Florence won back-to-back races at the course in June. Expect to see plenty of use made of the grey this afternoon. Sparkling Suzie is on handicap debut. She did not show a lot on her most recent start at Salisbury but any market positivity cannot be ignored. Ocean Countess won a classified stakes at Yarmouth in May. She has failed to get home over nine furlongs on her last two outings and the visor that accompanied the last of those engagements remains on this afternoon. Bermondsey Girl looks best in.
