Verdict

Talent Scout and Hydrant are similar in that both landed hat-tricks before recent defeats in better company at York and Ascot respectively. Course regular Shadowtime has won two of the last three renewals off lower marks but is not easily overlooked while Robert The Painter has been raised only 2lb for his defeat of Cono Zur here a fortnight ago. However, a competitive handicap can go the way of MULTI BENE, who was making his seasonal debut when third at Windsor earlier this month. With that pipe-opener under his belt, Ed McMahon's four-year-old looks up to winning off his current mark.
