This race will not take much winning and STRAVERSJOY has a likeable enough profile in the context of this grade. Reg Hollinshead's filly was predictably thought of as a stayer on pedigree but she has run well over similar trips in the past, particularly in a contest at the course that was won by Captain John Nixon, earlier in the season. Ella Grace has evidently had issues that have not seen her at the track too often this term. The ever reliable 3lb claim of Barry McHugh will come in handy. Akamon has dropped from an initial assessment of her abilities of 67 on her handicap debut and is now off 56 for today's engagement. Check The Anchor was given three runs in quick succession during his juvenile campaign and it would be no surprise to see him showing improvement for an absence from the course. Nephele is also first time out in a handicap though we are inclined to believe on pedigree that she might be better over further. There should certainly be no issue with regard to race fitness.
