Verdict

Hypnosis can defy a six pound penalty to land this at the expense of Steelcut and Malapropism. The selection was a recent winner of a sprint handicap at Catterick. Prior to that he had been showing a decent level of form in defeat and although he has top weight to carry he is the form horse in the race and is therefore difficult to oppose. Steelcut showed promise when finishing an eye catching second to Rasaman over course and distance recently. He was able to win off a similar mark at Hamilton earlier on in the season so has to be noted in the betting market. Malapropism is contesting in his 126th race course visit today of which he has landed himself in the winners circle 15 times. His strike rate may not be great but this looks like one of his easiest opportunities for a while so he therefore has to be respected. But for the winner we return to Hypnosis.
