Verdict

Changing The Guard has yet to run a disappointing race after five starts on the Polytrack and Richard Fahey's gelding has to be considered on his turf debut but he may just be a shade high in the weights now and preference is for TARTAN GUNNA who looks the pick of Mark Johnston's two runners ahead of Beautiful Breeze, who has been well held in all three starts in handicaps. The selection probably found the going too testing on his debut at Ayr in August but has he has done better on the Fibresand and Polytrack of late, remains feasibly well treated and can make a winning return to turf. Brian Ellison's Lakeman disappointed when last seen at Doncaster in November but has claims on earlier form, while Alan McCabe's Thunderball was well beaten on his recent reappearance and now looks best watched. This does not look to be the strongest of races with only six runners lining up for it and Tartan Gunna is taken to lead them home.
