Fossgate and BOGULA look the two to concentrate on here and the latter gets the vote, while Chichen Daawe is another one for the short-list. The selection is very much open to improvement after just four starts thus far, and her first experience of handicapping at Pontefract last time will stand her in good stead for this. Connections clearly feel that this trip is the one for her, while fast ground clearly suits and with a top amateur on plus a good draw we'll side with her. Serena Brotherton has a good record in these sort of contests and she partners Fossgate, who looks eminently capable from this mark, but has not won over this short since 2006 and is therefore worth taking on. Chichen Daawe took a Ffos Las handicap earlier in the month, staying on well over this trip, and this uphill finish should suit. She is upped just 3lbs for that and with a high draw looks a leading candidate. Silly Gilly pops up now and again on fast ground, but she has not yet won over this far and there are stamina doubts. Efidium is back on a very handy mark now and the old boy could have a major say, though he too might struggle to get home and Bogula can score.
