Verdict

Although beaten in a similar contest at Catterick earlier this month, TROPICAL BACHELOR went down narrowly to Saffron's Son and can go one better here with the main dangers rated as Flying Phoebe and Sphere. Paul Midgley's filly has run better in her last two starts and has to be respected back in a seller having run creditably in a handicap last time. As well as Sphere, Paul Midgley is also represented by Saffron's Son, who may struggle to defy the penalty incurred for his win at Catterick last week. Ann Duffield's Madam'x is less exposed than most of these after just five starts and has to be considered but she needs to improve to trouble the judge. Flying Phoebe looks to be going the right way judged by his recent effort in a Beverley handicap and he has claims but preference is for Tropical Bachelor, who can go one better than last time.
