Verdict

DREAMING OF RUBIES went close to landing a handicap at Thirsk last month. Ruth Carr's three-year-old has more scope for improvement than most of these and gets the tentative vote. Ingleby Star beat Fear Nothing over C&D earlier this month but the latter re-opposes on much better terms and third-placed Ashpan Sam also has a chance of reversing running. Holy Angel was runner-up in a lower grade handicap over track and trip last month but has to be forgiven a dreadful effort at Newcastle on Saturday while Bronze Beau arrives badly out of sorts.
