A very poor contest where ZAPLAMATION can gain further reward for some unlikely consistency in this sphere, while Carpe Diem is probably capable of getting stuck in and it would not surprise us to see an improved effort from I See Nice Sea. The selection won an apprentice handicap at Newcastle in July and in two subsequent starts in that company he has found only one too good. He acts on fast ground and has gone well enough here in defeat before, so from a plumb inside pitch he can prove good enough. Carpe Diem was runner up here on firm ground over slightly shorter back in June but has failed to hit the heights from the same mark since then. This is easier and he should again get competitive. Well Of Echoes was fourth at Wolverhampton last time before falling foul of the stewards and she has enough form to suggest that she can have a say, while dual seller winner Why Nee Amy has trip and ground to suit and may get going late on. Ollie Pears applies the blinkers for the first-time to I See Nice Sea, who is dropped back to a more suitable trip for now and should go on the ground, so if there is money for her then we should probably take note. Zaplamation is the one for us.
