Ingleby Star won this a year ago for local handler Ian McInnes and is 2lb lower but hasn't been in the same kind of form. Runner-up Sleepy Blue Ocean has been going much better but is worse off at the weights. Fear Nothing completed a hat-trick in July culminating in an easy victory here but has since struggled off a higher mark while Liberty Island, though in very good form at present, has it all to do from his outside stall. Alive And Kicking is better than his recent form figures suggest but Sir Geoffrey has struggled since scoring on soft ground at Doncaster. DIAMOND BLUE won what looked like a very moderate race over the C&D a couple of weeks ago but the form has been boosted by the placed horses and Richard Whitaker's filly, who has only had nine races, can defy a 4lb rise in the weights and complete a double.
