In depth

Verdict

RESCUE ME has the worst of the draw but she won with enough authority at Windsor to think that she can overcome that and a 6lb rise in the weights. Ghost Dancer is one of her more interesting opponents whilst Rydal is one of several who could also pose a threat. The selection is due to be one of only two rides on the night for Ryan Moore and he can cover his travelling expenses by partnering her to victory. The form of her Sandown third worked out well but she was given too much to do on her penultimate start by Ryan Moore before Richard Hughes made no mistake last time. She won very easily there and can do so again here as long as the ground stays on the fast side of good. It looks significant that Ghost Dancer has been kept in training and the Italian maestro produced another inmate to win on the back of a similar absence earlier in the week. The market spoke loudly that day and confidence behind Ghost Dancer's chances should be noted. The likes of Bold Cross and Ogre are respected but Rydal is worthy of consideration following a promising return to action. It's been a long time since he's won a race but he's weighted accordingly and that reappearance was his first run for a new yard. There's a chance that they've been able to rekindle his enthusiasm and he could emerge as a player. There are a few ifs and buts involved though so we'll side with the progressive Rescue Me.
