Verdict

Raimond Ridge deserves to get his head in front having been running consistently well of late but he seems booked for place at best again with a better bet looking to be BATTLE, who gets the vote over Chandika. The Clive Cox-trained filly has run well in both starts in handicaps, latterly over Sandown's stiff five furlongs, and she has solid claims racing off the same mark today but he may not be as well suited by the faster track today. Riflessione looks the pick of the three runners in the race trained by Ron Harris but he could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Simon Dow's Edith's Boy has shown a consistent level of form but remains a maiden after 10 starts, a run that is expected to continue here. Avrilo has similar claims but has now had 12 runs without a success and a safer option looks to be Battle. Hugh Morrison's gelding is another maiden but he is less exposed than most of these after just six starts, seems to be coming onto form like a lot of the yard's runners, and he looks worth chancing.
