Verdict

This could be a question of whether PHILIPSTOWN handles the ground as he's never raced on anything as soft as this. In the hope he acts on the surface he's handed the vote as he looked a progressive type when scoring at Windsor in May. Woolston Ferry was better known as an all-weather performer after eight victories but has shown that Turf holds no fears with victories last month here and at Pontefract. He's now back on his highest mark for some time but is in such good form that a four-timer isn't out of the question. The lightly-raced and improving Miss Cap Estel stayed on strongly over 7f on her reappearance at Lingfield and is certain to have come on for the run, her first since October, while her stablemate Autumn Fire, another progressive type, doesn't look badly treated despite a moderate handicap debut at Salisbury.
