Verdict

The weights of this claimer favour ONE MORE ROUND who is fancied to see off a stern challenge from both Fyodor and Piazza San Pietro. David Evan's experienced old campaigner knows all the tricks and is not always the most sympathetic to his jockey's wishes. However today's pilot Richard Evans, riding for his father, has now got two wins on the horse. He will be hoping to make amends for the run last time at Lingfield where he managed to find more trouble than a group of hoodies with a can of cider, and with a clearer run today then he must go close. His main rival may be Piazza San Pietro who got his head in front last time at Chepstow. He can be a bit of a reluctant hero and it is no real surprise to see the cheek-pieces applied on just his second start for his new yard. Mr Forthright also tries the cheek-pieces, but he looks like one of the less likely winners despite his trainers 15% strike-rate in claimers this year. Fyodor was well-held last time at Windsor and he has failed to fire since finishing second (ahead of the selection) in a Lingfield seller in May; he is a big threat, especially if the market agrees, however it is his stablemate One More Round who can be the toast of the town.
